An Old Song Comes to life

Since Trevor Noah left Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” it has been hosted by several comedians and other not-so-funny celebrities like Chelsea Handler, Wanda Sykes, Leslie Jones, Hasan Minhaj, Sarah Silverman, and former Democratic Senator Al Franken. To the chagrin of Comedy Central, The Daily Show sits in the darkest reaches of the television ratings basement relative to late-night programming – also to the vexation of all other late-night programs with politically progressive hosts, Fox News’ “Guttfeld!” is leading all such televised shows in viewer ratings.

Another recent host on the Daily Show has been Kalpen Suresh Modi, more commonly known by his alias Kal Penn who is an actor, liberal academic lecturer, and a former member of staff in the Whitehouse during the presidency of Barack Obama. One of Penn’s guests on the March 13, 2023 show was President Joe Biden. I link the relevant YouTube video here commencing at the 212-second mark (3 minutes-32 seconds).

Penn preceded a question to Biden with the statement, “And I never would have imagined 12 years ago that something as sweeping on climate as the Inflation Reduction Act would have happened” and finally asked, “So my question really, and I was watching all of this unfold, is who or what created the political space for you to take that kind of action?”

There are a couple of devious implications even in the question. First, the deceitfulness and duplicity of the designation “Inflation Reduction Act” which effectively dispatched 86% of the total funding on expenditures relating to gratuitous climate programs, not the reduction of inflation factors, and second, the inference and remark of “political space” rather than “scientific justification”.

While Biden said, Young people - young people that generation between 18 and 35 now”, gave him the political space, the reality was that they could not possibly wait any longer due to the uncertainties of the 2022 mid-term elections. In fact, had they waited the bill may not have passed, and would certainly be nowhere near the excessive extent of the burden it placed on the taxpaying public.

Throughout the interview, Kal Penn merely nods in agreement and compliance.

However, Biden is correct that it is the younger generations that have significant belief and credence in anthropogenic climate change, based, not on accurate science, but rather academic indoctrination. I recently wrote an article on the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) where a “statement position” clearly encapsulated that as fact. Further to enhance the politics of climate change, the Biden administration used TIK-TOK enhancers - those quasi-celebrities that dance, prance, and freelance on their ever-present cell phones.

In addition, efforts are continuing to maintain a disconnect from history or to rewrite history so that is more acceptable to advance progressive politics. This is especially useful for youth who have not personally experienced the history of decades ago and further education processes of the past where historical climatic conditions were taught factually and scrupulously without the erroneous saturation or impregnation of a political agenda.

Biden then goes full-on fairy tale talking about the wrath of mother nature and the fires, floods, and droughts. Even the government agencies under his watch cannot deny that these are all false. He then grabs for the ubiquitous 1.5°C rise in temperatures, that magical number that is played to help keep progressives in power and control for all time. In actuality, as explained in the linked article from Climate Realism, that number has already been surpassed and what were the consequences - nothing! Why? Because temperatures have been much warmer in the past and many times.

In all of this, I align with Hank Williams Sr. and his 1950 song “No, No Joe”. While it was written as a critique of the actions of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, if you listen to it and the lyrics, you can well imagine the suitability it has for much of the current situation.
