A Path to the Economy Basement
In 1880, at the beginning of the industrial revolution, the level of carbon dioxide was about 278 parts per million (PPM) or .0278% of the atmosphere. Now at 421 PPM, the obvious increase in CO2 since 1880 has been 143 PPM – coincidently, but not scientifically, the year 1880 was 143 years ago. As a result of human activity including the burning of fossil fuels, the contribution by man during that period would be between 4.3 PPM and 7 PPM. The likelihood of it being significantly less in earlier years, based simply on population growth, would be a considerable probability.
However, as in the story covered by the image below, people are never fed or provided with the human contribution of carbon dioxide. Many erroneously believe that the entire increase is a consequence of man – irrespective of gender or pronouns – and the alarmists are not going to muffle that belief since it plays so well into their fear-mongering narrative. I write more about this in my article, “The Unassailable Mathematics of Opposition”.
This and tainted reports by activist scientists, unqualified protestors and progressive, socialist politicians may make President Joe Biden officially declare climate change a national emergency at which time he can invoke astonishing administrative policies, constraints, and commands. This pronouncement would empower the presidency with authority that would make COVID regulations seem like mere child’s play.
On August 9, 2023, in an interview with the Weather Channel, loyalist blow horns of progressive climate change, Biden was asked if he was prepared to declare a national emergency relative to climate change to which he answered, “I’ve already done that” and clarified his response with “Practically speaking, yes.” The Washington Post has reported that the Whitehouse is “indeed considering doing so”.
The linked story from AOL says, “If he declares a national emergency, it triggers the ability for him to deploy around 130 different powers,” Jean Su, energy justice program director and senior attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity, said.” Undoubtedly the restrictions, restraints, and demands on the public will be massive and unquestionably move the economy into dire depths never before experienced.
Climate change or global warming is forever sold as a worldwide quandary, but one can be assured that at least China and Russia will revoke a United States emergency declaration with respect to climate action – it is likely that India may refrain as well. This revocation and repudiation by these countries, with their large land masses, may forever sink the United States far from its self-declared, pretentious title of “leader of the free world” and the country’s national security implications will be substantial.
One must remember that in early 2023 Biden said that climate change was a bigger threat to humanity than nuclear war. It would seem that the greatest threat to humanity may just be in those radicalized, politicized beliefs.
