A Saturday Short
I often write about the hypocrisy within the acting community. These people, that merely pretend for a living, make millions of dollars and then profess to take the moral high ground by telling people how to vote, behave and lower their standards and existence to the actor’s or actress’s wishes.
All the while, these actors and actresses exempt themselves from any and all of their authoritative orders. Their multiple mansions, planes, cars, and luxurious lifestyles are excused because they apparently deserve extravagant amenities while the peons of society are there merely to submit, serve and admire.
It would certainly appear that the fame of acting is never enough or are the traits of learning lines, making apt expressions, or real-life impersonations. Many of these pompous ‘celebrities’ need to prove themselves as intelligentsia in other areas of life. Progressive and liberal causes head the list.
Unless a highly proven box-office commodity, conservative actors and actresses also pretend to be liberal or progressive. This ensures they are not deprived of work because of their political leaning. Stories about this activity abound.
In the linked story, a hypocritical Leonardo DiCaprio channels funds from his charity, the DiCaprio Foundation (duh), through aphotic avenues and murky means to sue gas and oil companies under the cause of climate change.
At last count, he owns ten (10) multi-million dollar homes including an island off the coast of Belize as well as fleets of cars. He also owns a 450-foot yacht where reports of glamorous parties with other grandiose and flamboyant ‘celebrities’ are often reported.
When fossil fuel companies get sued, they add the costs of their defense to the price of their product, so we the peasantry must pay more for gas and oil as a result of DiCaprio’s prejudicial perspective. I suspect with DiCaprio’s wealth he doesn’t care what the price is.
Suing gas and oil companies over climate change has proven to be simply nuisance litigation. Never has the plaintiff won in any or all the cases brought before American courts.
