Chris Martz is a senior meteorology major at Millersville University, of Millersville, Pennsylvania, and a research assistant for the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT). Millersville is located approximately 65 air miles directly west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
As a CFACT research assistant, he thoroughly scours weather data to determine the reality and factuality of published statistics.
While much of Martz’s statistical work is on the area encompassing the United States, it is adjudged that global warming or climate change, by its marketers and promoters, is a worldwide, human-induced phenomenon of which the US is a component.
This first chart, gleaned from data, shows that the current temperatures are not uncommon and that the trend is actually downward. This is not the news you may be experiencing from the legacy media.
In a graphic of the USA below, again garnered from data, Martz shows the highest May temperatures for each state and the year it occurred. Note that most of the years in the data are decades in the past.
So you may wonder if the above temperatures are relevant since it only covers a single month, then link to the article “Record Highest Temperatures by State”. Again, the associated dates tend to be long ago.
These temperatures are assembled from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) or one of its agencies.
I discovered this temperature information, “Extreme Temperatures for Canadian Cities” for Canada’s records. The data, in general terms, is analogous to the dates shown for the USA.
This data, of course, is derived from instrumentation measure which have only been around since the late 1800s. It has to be surmised that, in the past, during warmer epochs, of which that have been many, temperatures were even higher.
When it comes to the majority of the left-leaning legacy media, advocate science and scientists, it always reminds me of the Mark Twain quote, “There are lies, damned lies and statistics.”
