Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT), a watchdog and oversight organization scrutinizing government expenditures, published a report citing that federal reviewers discovered billions of dollars in payouts and awards by the Biden Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with little or no oversight or post-award assessment. These awards were given exclusively to politically connected and Democrat-donor organizations. Some of the identifying concerns with the organizations awarded were “excessive executive pay, curious financial statements, and limited oversight.”
Funding was accessed from a budget allocated to the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), the largest budget item in EPA history, and further, the PPT reported that the awards were not administered or scrutinized at the appropriate management levels of examination.
About this story The Dailey Caller writes, “For a program that was given more money to hand out than the EPA has ever had in its entire budget, it would be reasonable for the American public to expect that it would have been operated without the slightest hint of conflict or questions about the recipients,” Michael Chamberlain, director of PPT, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Knowing what EPA leadership did following receipt of these critical assessments, one is left to wonder whether they decided wasteful spending while lacking the resources and any genuine plans to prevent abuse and fraud was merely the cost of doing business to avoid leaving it to a potential Trump administration.”
Titled, “The Shocking Weakness of EPA’s GGRF Award Process” the entire PPT report can be read or downloaded using the aforementioned underlined link.
Project Veritas is an investigative organization that targets corruption, especially on the left. In this linked video, they film an EPA Special Adviser for Implementation named Bret Efron, smugly bragging about the billions of dollars he has been able to give away while employed in that agency while in the Biden Administration.
At the current time, the Federal Government has frozen 129 Citibank accounts involved with many of these EPA awards. Naturally, lawsuits against both the EPA and Citibank have been filed.
This is not the only self-indulgent, unethical, and perhaps criminal climate change spending under the Biden Administration. As I wrote in “A Saturday Short - Easy Money”, “The Department of Energy, in the 76 days between the federal election and inauguration, spent $93 billion (93,000,000,000) on green environmental works and activities. Some of this money went to dubious businesses that did not even have a business plan.”
Many of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) discoveries of corrupted monetary expenditures with no administrative approvals are under this same type of fraudulent activity. And what do some people want to do – protest the DOGE findings of financial waste and corruption, and destroy Tesla vehicles.
