Reflecting on the imprisonment of deranged pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, Senior Louisiana Senator John Kennedy quipped “Christmas ornaments, drywall, and Jeffrey Epstein …three things that don’t hang themselves’.” Kennedy, as a satirist and humorist, can be quite amusing at times while conducting himself in a very serious, inquisitive manner. His Louisiana inflection and cadence further amplify and nourish his whimsical character and expressiveness.
As a ranking member of the Subcommittee on Economic Policy, Kennedy was questioning Robert Litterman, Chair of the Risk Committee at Kepos Capital LP as well as Douglas Holtz-Eakin former economics professor at Syracuse University, Director of the Congressional Budget Office and now President of the American Action Forum. The inquiry was related to “climate-related economic risks and their costs to the Federal Budget and the Global Economy.”
Litterman in his role as an ‘expert witness’ could not answer any of the questions posed by Kennedy but was obviously very keen on both globalization and the ultimate cooperation on climate change by Communist China and Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping .
In conclusion, rather than advise Litterman that China only does things that are in the best interest of China, Kennedy delivered his final thoughts regarding Litterman’s testimony with the following:
Kennedy: “Do you believe in the Tooth Fairy?” Kennedy queried.
Litterman: “No, sir.”
Kennedy: “Do you believe in the Easter Bunny?” Kennedy asked.
Litterman: “No, sir.”
Kennedy: “Do you believe that Jimmy Hoffa died of natural causes?”
Litterman: “No sir”.
Litterman, quite wisely produced no comeback.
