Covid Commandments for Climate Change
The bible’s opening stanza opens with “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Perhaps the next sentence should have read, “Thereafter everything else was made in China.” This could be followed by a colossal list of substandard products all made with inferior materials, as well as diseases of the pathogenesis variety.
On October 4, 2022, in an article called, “The Covid Climate”, I wrote, “In February of 2021, my wife and I had an appointment at a CVS Pharmacy in Laveen (west Phoenix), Arizona for our first and second Covid vaccinations. After the second shot, we essentially felt invincible – the CDC Centers for Disease Control and Protection, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Institute of Allergy, and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and the World Health Organization (WHO) along with almost every government agency related to public health said, “Covid was a disease of the unvaccinated.”
At that time, the dread of the pandemic was still in full swing. We underwent enforced mandates, lockdowns, prohibitions, and complete segregation from family and friends. Most everyone was complacent in following the policies and controls instructed, and at times, demanded, by public officials.
My wife and I both believe, sometime later, we contracted Covid, but it was prior to the availability of home testing kits. We simply slept for about a week. My wife drank plenty of water. I may have imbibed in other things as well. Soon thereafter, we started to hear conflicting information from some authoritative sources – from knowledgeable professionals, the public officials started to call medical and scientific heretics.
I began to feel embarrassed and ashamed. As someone who often questions abrasive bureaucratic action that seems more like bullying and harassment, I had effectively capitulated without question to their demands. Thinking back on this, it was the exact surrender and submission the public authorities were looking for.
In a recent Newsweek article, Kevin Bass MS, MD / Ph.D. medical school student, and researcher wrote he had the same initial sentiment as I, and he now wishes to apologize on behalf of the privileged Covid policy pushers in “academia, government, medicine, journalism, tech, and public health.
He further writes, “Instead, we have witnessed a massive and ongoing loss of life in America due to distrust of vaccines and the healthcare system; a massive concentration in wealth by already wealthy elites; a rise in suicides and gun violence especially among the poor; a near-doubling of the rate of depression and anxiety disorders especially among the young; a catastrophic loss of educational attainment among already disadvantaged children; and among those most vulnerable, a massive loss of trust in healthcare, science, scientific authorities, and political leaders more broadly.
The Covid commandments laid down by public officials were so successful in the beginning that many ascribed to similar mandates being imposed for anthropogenic climate change. If they could reach parishioners through punishment, like a preacher’s sermon filled with the wrath of ‘fire and brimstone’, perhaps creating more and harsher decrees on global warming would do exactly the same. In other words, pack all the pews in the congregation of climate change.
However, despite the obvious lies, deceptions, and misinformation laid upon the public, some continue to be persuaded and influenced by the Covid mandates in what I must assume are the delusional-dreamed declarations of the ‘Ghost of Fauci”.
Like Covid, anthropogenic climate change will eventually fall from the public sphere – it will take longer, but fall a lot harder.
