It seems a mendacious obligation for activist scientists to reshape reality, certainly an environmental reality, particularly as it relates to human-induced climate change. To get desired conclusions and results no manner or matter of cheating seems to be off-limits or an embarrassment when caught.
Cheating includes data manipulation, censorship, erasure, content manipulation as well as befriending and patronizing the legacy media. In Australia, the nation’s Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) which maintains records of temperature data has been replacing its glass thermometers with a digital type measuring device. These digital thermometers have been shown to record temperatures of .7°C (1.26°F) warmer than their glass counterparts.
The BOM took three years to satisfy a Freedom of Information (FOI) request on the new recording devices which have been in use since the mid-1990s. They do not dispute the variance in temperatures between the digital and glass thermometer, but in essence say, “So what.”
As Jo Nova, Australian science presenter, writer, and speaker says in the linked article, “After all, we wouldn’t want to use gizmo’s that recorded new all-time Hottest Ever Records that were actually just one-second gusts of hot air, would we? Our newspapers would be full of meaningless headlines about how Climate Change made us hotter than ever in history when really it was just a mistaken effect of a new type of thermometer.”
Where else has this been an issue? The likelihood is everywhere.
