In a blog on another platform, Ned Ford writes, “We should be making progress on money-saving energy efficiency, utility scale wind and utility scale solar power, which are abundant and cheap enough to displace all fossil and all nuclear power everywhere on Earth.
The adjective utility, I would interpret as “large-scale”; however, even if a sufficient number of these energy sources were constructed, the connected question not addressed is storage. Wind doesn’t always blow and the sun does not constantly shine.
In the article “A Saturday Short, Energy Storage - Mission Impossible”, I cover mathematical calculations that construction of these facilities is totally impossible and financially unattainable. I again link a research paper from the Global Warming Policy Foundation entitled “The Energy Storage Conundrum.”
Did Ford purposely omit the storage requirements from his blog? Employing the words “abundant and cheap” would certify this premeditated oversight.
Global warming or climate change is a reversal of the conventional scientific journey. When it was first conceived, it, almost immediately, became a veritable science under the auspices of consensus, and it was up to the non-consenting science community to disprove it. This dissident perspective or singular progression signifies that there is more than science at play.
Of course, as we know, it is politics.
Pew Research, in their article “Politics of Climate,” writes, “Liberal Democrats place more faith in the work of climate scientists (55% say climate research reflects the best available evidence most of the time) and their understanding of the phenomenon (68% say climate scientists understand very well whether or not climate change is occurring)”.
This statement is pure fabrication. Only a diminutive few have researched the actual, unmitigated work of climate scientists, but rather rely on the media to provide them with a summation of the work. What do the media do in this matter - they cherry-pick climate change advocacy articles. Articles or research papers disproving the promotion of climate change are, for the most part, pitched into a large waste paper basket.
In recent polls, the news media, especially the left-of-center, legacy media, have a slightly lower trustworthy and favorable rating than Congress. They, especially in the last several months, have unashamedly exposed their flagrant biases.
The climate phenomenon is used politically for a single purpose – instilling of fear - the savior being leftist politics and their money-doling politicians. Climate science is manipulated by politicians and presses who consider themselves intellectual elitists. They feel entitled to lecture us, the lowly, obtuse commoner.
The 14th-century French philosopher Michel de Montaigne exclaimed, “A man who fears suffering is already suffering from what he fears." While this says, “man” it’s meant as the “neuter noun” – which seems to be forbidden in these days of woke.
The promotion of climate change assuredly targets, in much greater strength, the youth, the underprivileged, and the powerless - ironically all those that the fairy tale hurts the worst.
