Psychological Battering
Environmental Psychology became a fully recognized field of psychology in the late 1960s. The “Hippy” social and cultural movement of the time, which was looking for cures to its ostensible environmental causes, undoubtedly had a hand in the creation of these university degrees.
“Hippiedom” was a grassroots movement and became activists against war, participated in the widespread use of hallucinogens and harder drugs, and lived communally with free love and communalism as their utopian economic model. In the environmental sector, they obstructed logging, mining, and other natural resource extraction industries and went about protecting certain species of wildlife. Most of their activities were made up of peaceful protests, often using sit-ins, which included messaging folk music. The invention of global warming had not yet fully surfaced, or it too would have been effusively besieged.
Environmental Psychology delves into the relationship between humans and the outdoor world, together with the particular environment that surrounds individual humans. Wikipedia’s description includes, “It explores such dissimilar issues as common property resource management, wayfinding in complex settings, the effect of environmental stress on human performance, the characteristics of restorative environments, human information processing, and the promotion of durable conservation behavior.”
I have written extensively on “the effect of environmental stress on human performance” as well as its ill effects on the climate change believer’s health and the related behavioral traits and characteristics of those suffering from climate anxiety. Climate anxiety, also known as eco-anxiety, causes feelings of despondency, depression, and anger. Science X Network's phys.org a website advocating for climate change, says anger is the prime motivator for climate activism because “climate change could be slowed, stopped, or even reversed by the cessation of greenhouse gas emissions and implementation of technology that removes greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. Unfortunately, little progress is being made on either front”.
Yet, many expert climatologists infatically and convincingly state that CO2 follows warming, not the other way around. Nuclear Scientist Digby Macdonald, Professor in Residence, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, UC Berkeley, in the article "Nuclear Scientist Says CO2 Is Not Causing Rising Global Temperatures" states, among other issues, “I found out that in fact, the temperature rises, and then the CO2 comes out. This has been discovered over and over by examining historical ice cores.
However, none of this seems to matter, since as The New Yorker magazine affirms in the article, ”Why Facts Don’t Change Our Minds”. Further, many studies back up research that states the majority of human decisions are based largely on emotion rather than fact. Much of progressivism, the political arm of climate change, is based on emotion, as are all of its many artificial issues.
The partisan, indoctrinated, climate change disciples heatedly identify those contesting the theory as unlearned skeptics, but the linked psychology-related website claims of those with skeptical characteristics as, “Apart from being open-minded, intelligent people tend to question, every thing critically, evaluating information and ideas, rather than accepting them blindly, which helps in forming well-formed opinions. The ability to be skeptical allows them to understand all the knowledge they are acquiring along with developing their perspective by questioning and analyzing all the information”
As revealed in an article by Phy.Org, the main motivating factor for compelling and captivating people into participating in, and thus promoting, climate activism is anger. Hence, climate change activists, for the most part, frantically and indiscriminately protest and many times cause damage to get media attention, which then panics the young.
In my article “A Saturday Short – Climate Carelessness of Children”, I write, “Where the genuine ugliness of the deceit rears its hideous head, is in its heartlessness and callousness towards children. Initially, I link a story from Future Net Zero that starts with, “A new campaign by renewable electricity supplier 100Green shows that children are increasingly worried about the impact of climate change” and, “The campaign follows research by children's charity, Save the Children which found that nearly 70% of the surveyed 3,000 children struggle with climate anxiety”.
The legacy media, leftist politicians, the majority of academicians, advocate scientists, and Hollywood do not seem to heed their reprehensible actions and continue to push their politically motivated climate change agenda. And, the emotions and concern within the young manifests itself into shortened future of unimagined horror.
