On September 22, 2022, several large bank Chief Executives were invited to testify before a US House Financial Services Committee meeting. Commencing with Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib asked a question about investing in fossil fuels activities.
She asked, “You have all committed, as you all know, to transition the emissions from lending and investment activities to align with pathways to net-zero in 2050 … So no new fossil fuel production, starting today, so that’s like zero. I would like to ask all of you and go down the list, because again, you all have agreed to doing this. Please answer with a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ does your bank have a policy against funding new oil and gas products, Mr. Dimon?”
Immediately Jamie Dimon responded with “Absolutely not. And that would be the road to Hell for America.” Before going on to the balance of the CEOs, Tlaib went on a cryptic tirade suggesting all students pull their student loan debt away from JPMorgan. After concluding her invective, all of the other bank CEOs agreed with the response provided by Dimon. This is not necessarily the case with the world’s central banks who often use woke ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) ratios in assessing lending and investment practices.
Of course the reason, Tlaib wanted a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ answer is because she would have no prudent rejoinder to any response that was reasonable or complex – the proof arrived in the form of her tirade. In her preamble to the question, she pronounced Celsius as “Sell-i-sis”, with no interruption to correct the error, suggesting that is as much as she knows about the climate.
Tlaib is one of the fanatical, activist representatives known as the Squad. It also includes:
· Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York
· Ilhan Omar, Minnesota
· Ayanna Pressley, Massachusetts; they later added:
· Cori Bush, Missouri; and
· Jamaal Bowman, New York
All of them bring radical leftist dogma and ideologies that can be construed as the reverse of most logical thinking and material concepts.
In 2019, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, assuredly the most bombastic member, brought into her office the Sunrise Movement to write and originate the “Green New Deal”. The “Sunrise Movement” is a political-action, environmental group of people in their 20’s. The group not quite 2 years into their movement at that time, describe themselves as a movement of young people uniting to stop the climate crisis because “This dark hour in America cannot last”.
Throughout a weekend, Saikat Chakrabarti, chief of staff for Ocasio-Cortez, and members of the Sunrise group sat and learned the legislative brand of legalese necessary to author legislation and wrote what has become the calling card for progressive climate change actions that have set the USA on to a path of dangerous, regressive economic issues
Saikat Chakrabarti was later quoted as saying, “The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all… Do you guys think of it as a climate thing? Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.”
In other words, as the entire squad stipulates, modify the economy, in all political issues, towards communist standards.
In January of 2019, Ocasio-Cortez, predicted that the world would end in 12 years and furthermore, suggested that Republicans do not like her because they are sexually frustrated and want to date her.
