During the weekend of December 9, 2022, the opening of the climate change movie “To the End” grossed a total of $9,667.00 in 120 theatres for a total of $81.00 gross revenue per theatre. Filmed over four years, the best known among the “stars” is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who is currently under investigation by the US House of Representatives Ethics Committee.
Playing second fiddle in the movie was Varshini Prakash climate activist and executive director of the Sunrise Movement. Participants of the Sunrise Movement are the originators of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ Green New Deal. In a single weekend, the Ocasio-Cortez’ campaign along with leftwing groups Justice Democrats and New Consensus rearranged the Green New Deal into a legislative codification format. As Ocasio-Cortez’ chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti later said, “The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all. Do you guys think of it as a climate thing? Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.”
Judging from the results of the movie It would appear, the existential threat of climate change may simply be the whimsy of the few; however, as a show of feigned and fake solidarity, I suspect the alarmist community will unite this coming weekend and purchase tickets by the dozens and then have the fictitious ability to expound on the veracity of their cause.
This is reminiscent of the movie “Planet of the Humans” released in 2020. It was produced by Michael Moore, the American documentary filmmaker, author, and left-wing activist. Michael Moore had predisposed liberalized beliefs on essentially everything, but in one case, investigation, examination, and the truth changed his mind. Moore set out to prove that the earth under renewable energies was entirely viable and the corporate greed of “big” oil was impeding that progress.
Moore’s findings, however, were the total reverse of his most-treasured desires, or as Moore surmised, “I like so many people in the film and I’m one of those people who wanted to believe all of these years that that was the right path”. The film’s director Jeff Gibbs concludes, “It turned out the wakeup call was about our own side. It was kind of crushing to discover that the things I believed in weren’t real, first of all, and then to discover not only are the solar panels and wind turbines not going to save us, but also that there is this whole dark side of the corporate money.”
Michael Moore and his film producers realized that the earth must have oil, no current renewable energies can take the place of fossil fuels, and corruption absolutely abounds in the environmental movement. While heartbroken and emotionally devastated, Moore had to publicly assert that the truth was not in his leftist corner.
So what do the alarmists and fanatics have to say, “take down the movie”? This is the left’s response to any debate they lose – the obliteration and suppression of legitimacy and reality.
