Enlightening Lightning
During a heavy thunderstorm-laden golf tournament in Spartanburg, South Carolina in June of 1982, professional golfer Lee Trevino, nicknamed “The Merry Mex”, held a one-iron golf club over his head claiming, “not even God can hit a 1-iron.”
There was certainly an intent at humor here, but there is a modern-day truth in Trevino’s claim. I have not seen a 1-iron in a golf bag since the very early 1980s. In longer lower-trajectory clubs, hybrids reign supreme.
After three people died from lightning strikes in Washington, DC, on August 5, 2022, near the Whitehouse, in this linked story from Reuters, they write, “Scientists say that climate change is increasing the likelihood of lightning strikes across the United States”.
If that was true then climate change must assuredly be over. The graph below from Statista, the leading provider of market and consumer data, shows lightning strike injuries and deaths in the United States in the 25 years leading up to 2020.
The graph certainly dispels Reuters’ assertion.
The legacy media and gravy-train scientists, serving progressive political agendas are shameless in producing misinformation and expressing lies to enhance anthropogenic climate change as a bona fide phenomenon.
Over the last 3 decades, these charlatans use all types of weather including heat waves, hurricanes, and other grievous events of nature to proclaim that climate change is a reality while purposely neglecting any cold snaps, or heavy snow squalls, and other chilly wintry weather events.
The climate-related deaths are constantly hyped as well, yet these deaths, tabulated worldwide by OFDA/CRED International Disaster Data, from 1920 onward are shown below - more unabashed propaganda.
